Linens–Vintage Aprons, Tablecloths and Embroidery

Hello and good morning!  Today’s post is all about vintage textiles.  Our store has so many lovely vintage linens to choose from.

Above is a rack full of freshly laundered and aprons – a part of a woman’s wardrobe back in the ‘50’s.  Nowadays these sweet and charming pieces are used as décor in homes and oftentimes fashioned into a simple window valance.

Below is just a sampling of the hankies available.  They aren’t just to dab a face anymore…they are used for making quilts, bed skirts, curtains, pillows and clothing.

Below is another apron with the cutest floral check fabric.

If you like vintage textiles, then you will be a happy camper sorting through the stacks of them that many vendors have in their spaces.

There are also vintage fabrics from feed sacks to barkcloth.

Lots of adorable crochet doilies and pot holders, as shown below.

Beautiful framed samplers and scattered here and there that provide sweet sentiments of friendship….

…and some sport a simple ABC and 1,2,3.

Flour sack towels with images of dogs, cats and chickens are folded in with vintage floral motif towels.

Beautiful packaged pillowcases with crochet and embroidery.  Each one has been laundered and pressed and are ready to use.

Beautiful neutrals with European linens mixed in with filigree lace tablecloths.

A sample of pillows made with hankies and tablecloths.

So, as you can see, we have A LOT of vintage linens.  If you collect them, then you will want to come in a see all of the lovely pieces that have been hand selected by many of our vendors.

As a note, our store was not affected by the earthquake that hit Napa County on Sunday.   We are 100 miles from the epicenter.  Our thoughts are with those who were affected by the earthquake.
