Let’s Walk Around….

One of my favorite things to do is to walk around the store and look in to see if there are new items from the vendors.

And, as always, they seem to find those new treasures and fill them into their spaces.  Sweet dolls, tea cups and saucers…

….a really cute metal desk that is painted white….

…a super cool clipper ship….

….a Coca-Cola sign….

..a vintage gravel truck….

…and a rusty old doll house….

…a fun flour sack with a cow…

…and a sign that says to Follow Your Bliss.  Does that mean to buy everything I LOVE?  If only my

pocket book could support buying EVERYthing that I like.  But that is ok….have to leave stuff for others.

Linens–Vintage Aprons, Tablecloths and Embroidery

Hello and good morning!  Today’s post is all about vintage textiles.  Our store has so many lovely vintage linens to choose from.

Above is a rack full of freshly laundered and aprons – a part of a woman’s wardrobe back in the ‘50’s.  Nowadays these sweet and charming pieces are used as d├ęcor in homes and oftentimes fashioned into a simple window valance.

Below is just a sampling of the hankies available.  They aren’t just to dab a face anymore…they are used for making quilts, bed skirts, curtains, pillows and clothing.

Below is another apron with the cutest floral check fabric.

If you like vintage textiles, then you will be a happy camper sorting through the stacks of them that many vendors have in their spaces.

There are also vintage fabrics from feed sacks to barkcloth.

Lots of adorable crochet doilies and pot holders, as shown below.

Beautiful framed samplers and scattered here and there that provide sweet sentiments of friendship….

…and some sport a simple ABC and 1,2,3.

Flour sack towels with images of dogs, cats and chickens are folded in with vintage floral motif towels.

Beautiful packaged pillowcases with crochet and embroidery.  Each one has been laundered and pressed and are ready to use.

Beautiful neutrals with European linens mixed in with filigree lace tablecloths.

A sample of pillows made with hankies and tablecloths.

So, as you can see, we have A LOT of vintage linens.  If you collect them, then you will want to come in a see all of the lovely pieces that have been hand selected by many of our vendors.

As a note, our store was not affected by the earthquake that hit Napa County on Sunday.   We are 100 miles from the epicenter.  Our thoughts are with those who were affected by the earthquake.

July At The Warehouse

It is hard to believe that it is already July 31 and I haven’t posted yet this month.  Where does time go?  The summer time is full with family time, parties, vacations and just enjoying the dog days of summer.

Our store continues to get better all of the time and we would like to welcome many of our new vendors to our Antique Warehouse family and, sadly, say so long to some of our vendors who have been an integral part of our store for many years.  You will be missed!

This post will be a bit longer than most as a means to share more of what is available right now.  Plenty of cottage style and shabby chic furniture fill the spaces, such as this wonderful cabinet in Cheryl B.’s space. (dealer 2575)

Cliff (dealer 299) has this wonderful bell available and the “Lucky Strike” sign just so happens to go nicely with it.

Debbie S. has beautiful items for sale in her case (dealer 75).  Check our the majolica plates and her wonderful motto prints.

There is no guessing what her favorite color is….green.  Plenty of pretty green pottery pieces fill the shelves, too.

Below is a view of Debbie’s space.  Cute vintage items there!

Barbara (dealer number B26) has an eye for ephemera and packages these lovely old paper pieces up so nicely in protective plastic envelopes.  There are antique postcards, cabinet cards, Victorian scrap and old black and white photos of days gone by.

Below is a section of Barb’s space.  She has many of her items for sale displayed in this awesome antique mercantile seed packet display that she recently bought from Cheryl H.  (As featured in a precious post).

Farmhouse style is so popular right now and so are antique crockery bowls.  These little cutie pies are available in Becky’s space (dealer 16).

Cheryl H. has beautiful Roseville pottery for sale in her locked cabinet (dealer 0CAH).

Cheryl also has a lot of seaside related items, like this super cool Olympia Oyster Crate.

She also just brought in these sweet dishes that are made in France.

Lilly has this wonderful chaise available in her space (dealer 3516).  And it is super comfortable, too!

Cindy and Wayne have plenty of signage in their space (dealer WCB).

And lastly, if you know someone who likes to collect retro flamingos, Tracy has this super fun collection in his space (dealer 89).  Or, if you need a new collection, well, here you go!  Instant collection here!

Our Hot August Nights event and outdoor Peddler’s Fair is this Saturday, August 2 from 8 AM till 3 PM.  Come and enjoy the fun!  There will be sales throughout the store this day as well.
