It Was A Great Christmas Season At The Store!

P1010099p

This has been a wonderful Christmas season at our store!  Our dealers packed their spaces with all KINDS of holiday decor along with fabulous antique treasures as well.  Our Ho Ho Santa store was well received and Danny and his crew really outdid themselves with making the shop a magical place for all.

Plenty of holiday linens, ornaments, blow molds and even lighted deer were to be found elsewhere in many of our dealer’s spaces.

Our Christmas open house was a lot of fun and delicious treats were provided by our dealers for our customers to enjoy as they strolled through the store.

Vintage Christmas Adornments For Your Home

Having that extra element of surprise when decorating is especially fun at Christmas time.  Take for example this vintage children’s snow ski set and poles.  And how about setting a pair of red Wellies by the front door?

It’s the little elements of surprise that make the holiday home magical.  Pops of red, glittery golds, sparkling whites…

…and the twinkle of the Christmas tree lights.   This BEAUTIFUL French style settee would be the perfect addition in an entry hall.  A lovely spot to sit to take off your shoes or boots.  And that cute vintage doll is just sweet, too.

Many people don’t use fresh cut trees anymore, but this vintage tree stand could still be used to hold a faux tree.  The graphics on this piece of a red barn and children sledding is adorable!   Sitting below the tree stand is the sweetest old child’s sled.  Super cute stuff here!

The vintage star (below) is in pristine condition and comes with its original box.  It works, too.  Just plug it in and it gives off the softest glow.

Even if you are finished with decorating your home for this year, there is always next year to start collecting those sweet vintage pieces for.

Hope to see you soon!

Mixing Your Collectibles In With Holiday Decorating – and Open House Info!

 P1010029

One of our dealers is sharing with us how she mixes in Christmas with the collections that she has out all year long.  After all, who wants to have to put away all of the everyday displays in order to put out the Christmas adornments?

This year tiny vintage bottle brush trees were tucked inside old restaurant ware creamers.  The grouping of little creamers all have a green pattern on them – perfect for Christmas.

For a farmhouse feel, use a vintage toy tractor, tie a bottle brush tree down on the back with a piece of twine and add a felt knee hugger Santa to the driver’s seat.  Santa has his tree now and is greeted on the shelf with a mica pinecone Snowman.  Using the old SKAT hand soap brings the display upwards, too.

A popular trend with collectors these days is to use old crates and totes for displaying collections of items.  Above, an old Watkin’s Salesman Sampler Tote sits on a shelf and holds crocks filled with bottle brush Christmas trees.  To keep the trees from falling inside the crock, she used wadded up paper and stuffed the crocks with it.  Just set the tree on top of the paper or use some double-sided tape to keep the tree standing upright.

Antique postal scales allow a place for a mica tree topper star to sit on top of.

Vintage games pieces are a lot of fun to use to spell out different words, like Santa.  These pieces are also fun to use on your table and spell out the name of the guest who’s spot is set at the holiday table.  It’s the little extra unexpected touches that make your guest feel special.

Below, teeny tiny little wrapped packages are nestled under a tree.  These are vintage pieces and each package has been adorned with tiny millinery and jewelry.  These were a great find years ago at her favorite antique store in town.

Christmas decorating is oftentimes thinking outside the box – no pun intended!  :)  So have fun with decorating and if you need any vintage pieces to mix in with your decor, our store is full of all kinds of wonderful items to use…or give as gifts.

Our Christmas Open House is this weekend, December 8th and 9th.

Store hours are 11AM – 6PM.  Refreshments will be served for our customers, too.  Stop on by for some holiday cheer!  Several sales will be going on throughout our store and our Christmas store is open as well!  See you this weekend!

As I stroll through the store and peek into each of our dealer’s spaces, I am amazed at how many beautiful and wonderful items we have right now.  The dealers have been feverishly working on decorating their spaces for Christmas and making each corner glisten with sparkling lights and trees.  There are scatterings of vintage Christmas all over the store, so be sure to come on by to see what there is today!  New stuff coming in every single day!

Hoping everyone had a beautiful Thanksgiving!  Now it is time to focus on finding that perfect gift for that extra special someone in your life.  If that someone is into vintage and antiques, we may just have what they need!  Lots of stocking stuffers, too!

Ever look for that extra special little gift tag to coordinate with your gift wrapping?  One of our creative dealers, Barbara, has been busy in her studio making up wonderful tags to sell in her space (B26).  There are tags for all occasions and stamped ribbons as well.  My favorite is the log cabin, but you come on down and check them out to find your favorites!  They come three in a package for $1.99.  They make wonderful gifts as well!
